MEMORANDUM FOR PORT USERS AND RELATED INSTITUTIONS AND ENTERPRISES

An exemption has been obtained for Ünye Çimento San. ve Tic. A.Ş.' Çayeli Filling and Packaging Facility Port under Article 7 of the "Regulation on Collection of Wastes from Ships and Waste Control" which came into effect after having promulgated in Official Journal dated 26.12.2004 and No.25682 (for non-establishment of Waste Reception Facility). Therefore, no waste will be received into Çayeli Filling and Packaging Facility port to which only ships serving for Ünye Çimento San. ve Tic. A.Ş. are allowed to berth; and such ships will have to deliver their wastes to "Waste Reception Facility" set up in Ünye Port. Only, in emergencies, foul waters of ships will be picked up by a Waste Collector (Vidangeur) to be provided for this purpose and their garbages will be delivered into Municipal garbage collection vehicle. Again in emergencies, such dangerous wastes as bilge, sludge, waste oil, etc., generated by ships, will be sent away to licensed recovery or disposal facility by means of a licensed dangerous waste carrier to be provided for this purpose.
