	Petroleum Cement
	The production works for Petroleum Cement that has recently taken place in the agenda, are in progress in Bolu Cement and Mardin Cement factories of the OYAK Cement Group since the beginning of 2008. In 2009, Bolu Cement has produced and delivered "G" type petroleum cement according to the agreement signed with TPAO. The subject is being evaluated in the OYAK Cement group Technology Committee and the works on designating the conditions and costs of producing the "G" class petroleum cement. detail

RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT

Research and development have a special importance for OYAK Cement Group. In the direction of creativity and competitiveness, that take part among the values of the Group, R&D units have been constituted in all our companies and the works are in progress without any intervals. Some of the works are carried out with the support of TUBITAK and cooperation are materialised with the universities.

Some of the projects that have been created as a result of these works are as follows:

As a result of the efforts, the special type of cement for the Marmaray tube tunnel, defined as the project of the century, was produced in the end of long studies with the partnership of Bolu Cement and OYAK Concrete and was used in the tube that was laid under the sea. The cement used has a low alkali level, is a type with long durability in the sea, and was specially developed to meet the needs of this special project.
Today, OYAK Cement Group presents the largest slag cement capacity of Turkey; slag cement usage is gradually increasing with its low clinker usage and long durability. With the use of this type of cement the carbon dioxide emission and damage to the environment is reduced. The slag cement produced by Adana and Bolu Cement is marketed to the whole world.
OYKA has invested over 40 million dollars in the Çaycuma factory since 2003, from its purchase from the Privatization Administration. Within this context, the first large scale home made biomass boiler of Turkey was put into circuit and remarkably reduced the use of fossil fuel and secured savings in energy cost.
Bolu Cement made the first application in the Turkish cement industry for a patent on 27.03.2007 and upon receiving the positive report, the research patent application made was published in the bulletin dated 21.10.2007 and numbered 136 of the Turkish Patent Institute. After the pendant and research period the patent numbered TR 2007-01995 was received on December 22, 2008. The Rotating Kiln Integrated Waste Incineration System, which was completed after long struggles is the first machinery in the sector to have a patent.
