	Petroleum Cement
	The production works for Petroleum Cement that has recently taken place in the agenda, are in progress in Bolu Cement and Mardin Cement factories of the OYAK Cement Group since the beginning of 2008. In 2009, Bolu Cement has produced and delivered "G" type petroleum cement according to the agreement signed with TPAO. The subject is being evaluated in the OYAK Cement group Technology Committee and the works on designating the conditions and costs of producing the "G" class petroleum cement. detail

	In the OYAK Mathematics Contest among high schools held in 15 cities, the students of Zonguldak Science High School became the champions.

ENVIRONMENT CONSCIOUSNESS

With the consciousness to the environment and the future generations OYAK Cement Group, carries out the investments to reduce the traces left in the environment. One of the targets of all the factories is to reduce the carbon dioxide emission; to achieve this purpose all the high tech and new products are continuously monitored and adapted to the factories. In this respect, throughout the production histories of the factories, fuel oil consumption was first replaced first by coal then by petrocoke, which provided more productivity with less amount and filter systems have been renewed so many times before we have reached the present situation. Today, within the scope of the environment legislation, the factories operate with well below the allowed waste gas releases, in conformity with the European Union norms.

Along with all the cement factories OYAK Concrete and OYKA have the TS-EN-ISO 14001 Environment Management System document and Adana Cement is the first cement factory in Turkey that has installed and documented the environment management system.

OYAK Cement Group is also standing at an important place in disposing wastes. All the factories have waste incineration licences and in every one of them, especially in Bolu Cement there is energy savings up to 10 % and contaminated substances that are very difficult to dispose, like dye mud are completely annihilated in 1500o C constituted in the cement technology. The consumption of coal is decreased by the use of alternative fuel, the wasted that are so difficult to get rid of in nature are annihilated before a solid or liquid waste is constituted, great contribution is provided to the country in waste disposal.

With the waste paper facility taken into circuit by OYKA in the previous years all kinds of waste paper collected from all corners of Turkey are brought to Çaycuma Factory and included in paper production after certain processes and the presence of such a factory in the country creates a serious motivation in waste paper collection and evaluation throughout the country.

AFFORESTING WORKS
OYAK Cement Group continuously carries out afforesting works in the areas where the OYAK Cement facilities are. In this context, within the last years 27,632 trees were planted by Adana Cement, 195,995 by Bolu Cement, 14,000 by Ünye Cement, 63,000 by Mardin Cement, 6,400 by Aslan Cement and 3,000 by OYKA and also as a result of the works realised with University of Bartın, Faculty of Forestry a plan was made to plant 4,000 tress in the factory site in 2009.

In relation with industrial forest growing a company was established in 2005 in Turkey under the title, "ENAT" (Industrial Tree Agriculture) Inc. with 31 partners under the pioneering of TEMA. OYKA is one of the founder partners. ENAT that designated its main interest as fast growing species has planted 1,014,850 trees until today.
